Paul King practises general real estate law and is the leader for the real estate practice group in Fasken's Toronto office. Paul is also the chair of the Law Clerk Committee for Fasken's Toronto office.
His practice includes purchasing, selling and mortgaging commercial, industrial, institutional, resource, vacant, farm, residential and recreational properties; estate conveyancing; industrial and commercial single use and mixed-use development projects including construction and financing issues; mortgage remedies (including the attornment of rents and power of sale); reviewing and resolving of title problems; drafting and issuing complex title opinions; preparing and submitting applications for first registration in land titles; severance applications; conversion of buildings to condominiums; and condominium developments and seniors housing developments.
Paul also is involved in drafting encroachment agreements and analyzing related issues; drafting easement agreements and analyzing related issues; real estate work in connection with corporate reorganizations; commercial leasing acting for both landlords and tenants for offices, warehouses, retail premises, commercial premises and industrial premises; and sale and leaseback transactions for commercial properties.
Community Involvement
- Former Director and Resource Committee Chair for the Hincks-Dellcrest Treatment Centre and Institute, an organization that assists and treats children with mental health problems
- President of Community Heritage Ontario, an umbrella organization for municipal heritage committees throughout Ontario
- Member of St. Marys Heritage Committee, which is currently working on a heritage conservation district in addition to a number of other projects. Paul was formerly a member of the St. Marys Committee of Adjustment
- United Way of Greater Toronto: Paul has been involved with the Fasken leadership campaign for over 20 years
