Representing Platinex, a junior mineral exploration company, in a dispute with a First Nation respecting proposed exploratory drilling on KI's traditional territory. This is a civil action including injunction motions, and raises aboriginal law and constitutional issues. It was commenced in 2006 and is ongoing.
KI obtained an interim interim injunction that required consultation among the company, First Nation and the provincial Crown. The court dismissed KI's subsequent motion for an interlocutory injunction and permitted the company to commence phase 1 of its exploratory drill program.
