Comment on Chaoulli v. Quebec (Attorney General), 2005 SCC 35, [2005] S.C.J. No. 33

Reaction to the Supreme Court decision in the Quebec medicare case was noteworthy for a number of reasons. In a close 4-3 decision, June 9, the Court struck down two sections of Quebec legislation that prevented patients from purchasing private insurance to cover services provided without charge under the provincial health plan.
