Hospitals juggle numerous demands and requirements: Hospital Accountability Agreements, Hospital Annual Planning Submissions, data collection by the Canadian Institute for Health Information, and a myriad of other disclosures and paperwork. Additionally, hospital operations are overseen by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC), LHINs, the provincial Auditor General - and those are just the bodies with statutory mandates. The news media, MPPs, municipal councils and citizens groups also expect hospitals to respond to them. Annual salary disclosure (the "$100,000 club"), rights of access under the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the reporting obligations of your charitable foundation round-off the list.
