Ronald J. McRobie practices in the fields of labour, employment and human rights law. In addition to providing general counsel and preventive advice, he represents his clients in a full range of litigious matters involving employment, labour relations and human rights issues before arbitrators, the civil courts (Supreme Court of Canada, Court of Appeal, Superior Court, Court of Québec) and the various labour boards such as the Québec Labour Board (Commission des relations du travail) and the Canada Industrial Relations Board as well as other administrative tribunals. Mr. McRobie is also frequently engaged to negotiate collective agreements for his clients both at the provincial and federal levels.
His areas of expertise include all employment and labour issues, such as executive terminations of employment and other dismissal cases of all sorts, complex arbitration matters, union certification, unfair labour practice, anti-scab (replacement workers) and successor rights issues under the Québec and the Canada Labour Codes, non-competition agreements, injunction and judicial review proceedings, human rights issues and occupational health and safety matters. He also has considerable experience in labour disputes, particularly in injunction proceedings regarding illegal picketing, strikes and other conflicts.
