Securities and Mergers & Acquisitions Newsletter

April 2010

Fasken Martineau welcomes readers to this first issue of its quarterly Securities and M&A Newsletter.

In our Newsletter we will aggregate and republish Bulletins on Securities and M&A topics which we have published in the most recent calendar quarter, by providing some of the content from each Bulletin with a link to the full Bulletin. This format can also be read from your mobile device.

We will also provide additional content in the form of feature articles. Our inaugural issue includes an article on the South African securities and M&A regime.

Fasken Martineau since 2003 has had an office in Johannesburg from which it serves its clients with activities in Africa, particularly, its mining clients. Mining law continues to be one of the firm's unique strengths among not just Canadian law firms but law firms globally. In 2009, for the fifth consecutive year, the firm was named Law Firm of the Year for Global Mining by Who's Who Legal, the Strategic Research Partner for the American Bar Association's Section of International Law. The firm has received this distinction every year since the award's inception.

In future issues of the Newsletter we will feature, from our London and Paris offices, articles on the securities and M&A regimes in the United Kingdom and France.

We invite your comments on what you read in the Newsletter and we expect to respond to those comments by updating the content, format and delivery aspects of this publication.
