What our Trainees say…
"Fasken Martineau is a unique place to work. Trainees are provided with interesting work and significant amounts of responsibility from day one. With the support of the firm's training partner and the trainee supervisors (a mix of partners and senior associates), trainees hit the ground running. As a trainee, you will be encouraged to interact with clients, take part in business development initiatives and will be exposed to the commercial issues which face clients and their businesses, both through your day-to-day work in the office and client secondments.
One of the most compelling reasons to train at Fasken Martineau is that the teams within which you will work are small enough to ensure that you will be involved in all aspects of the particular deal or dispute that you are working on. Also, many of the lawyers at the firm are leading-industry practitioners, which means that as a Fasken Martineau trainee, you will be able to learn from some of the best lawyers in the country.
During your time as a trainee at Fasken Martineau, you will work with clients in a variety of industries, across all practice areas. This wide exposure will be paramount when it comes to helping you decide what you want to do on qualification. Not only will the training that the firm provides prepare you for qualification, it will ensure that you have a solid career foundation on which you can build to excel in your chosen practice area."
Here at the London office of Fasken Martineau we offer training contracts that are structured to provide real responsibility and the chance for our trainee solicitors to gain practical and relevant experience in a leading international law firm from day one.
As an international law firm, Fasken Martineau, is committed to turning talented law students into successful solicitors. Within a structured trainee programme, your training contract will allow you to develop the skills you need as an integral part of our team.
From trainee to qualified solicitor and on to partner, Fasken Martineau offers a dynamic environment for a rewarding legal career with excellent opportunities for progression. With a focus from the outset on the individual and what that person can bring to our team, our trainees qualify knowing what life as a qualified solicitor, with its many demands and rewards, is really like.
We will give you the tools and opportunities to complete your training contract. During each seat, you'll have a supervising partner who will give you regular feedback and an associate solicitor who will mentor you and offer on the ground help with any day-to-day matters which may arise. You will also receive formal feedback through an appraisal process that takes place in the middle, and at the end, of each seat.
Our retention rates are excellent, with the vast majority of our trainee solicitors going on to be offered fully qualified solicitor roles with us.
The closing date for our next trainee solicitor intake (commencing September 2016) has now passed. Details on how to apply for our 2017 intake will appear on our website later on in the year.
