Articling Students. Your year of opportunity.

Our articling student program ensures that your articles reflect the experience you will receive as an associate with our firm.

We have an extensive orientation and professional development program. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in our continuing legal education program and various practice group meetings.

Your interests shape your articles at Fasken Martineau. Our flexible program provides you with the freedom to modify your rotations during the articling term. This flexibility also allows you deeper involvement with the files that you are working on.

The strength of each of our business law and litigation sections, and the variety of practice groups within those sections, allows you to gain experience in your areas of interest and to explore other fields of practice as your interests evolve.

While all members of the firm play a significant role in
assisting and advising students during the articling term, each student is formally mentored by at least two of our lawyers. Your mentors, together with the Student Development Committee, are responsible for providing the support, guidance and constructive feedback necessary to ensure the quality of your experience.

As an articling student, your performance will be evaluated
and discussed with you on a regular basis. And, of course, we'll want to hear from you on how we measure up to your expectations.

We work hard to make sure students have every opportunity to learn, grow and develop into the future leaders of our firm.

Compensation

Our Toronto students are paid at a level comparable to that offered by other major law firms in Toronto. Students will receive two weeks salary while completing the Law Society Licensing Exams. Registration and course fees will also be paid by the Firm. We also provide a pre-articling bonus to all summer students returning to article with the Firm.
