			Did you find the secondment experience useful?
						I wanted to get some experience working in a government agency and this was perfect. The [organization] does litigation and policy work, which are exactly the two areas I am interested in, and there was a large variety of work to keep me busy. I gained a breadth of experience and a good look at the kinds of issues [organization] grapples with on a daily basis - all of which have an impact on public life.
						I got to be involved in some high level work. Very useful seeing the client side of things.
						It was a great opportunity to understand the day-to-day legal issues that a client must deal with. It helped me to better understand the role that lawyers play in assisting clients with regulatory, contractual, and employment issues.
						Since one of my areas of interest is litigation, the pure litigation experience offered at [organization] was an excellent fit for me. It complemented my experience at the Firm very nicely.
						The summer secondment provides numerous benefits. You obtain greater exposure in a specific area of law, which provides one with valuable legal knowledge and experience. You are provided with very practical advantages by experiencing the practice of law in a different light, whether that be in-house, at a tribunal or commission, or in a different city.
						My secondment experience was very useful in exposing me not only to a different legal environment but also to a different type of litigation. It markedly improved my research skills because I was asked to research very narrow issues of the law.

 

			Would you recommend your secondment assignment to other students?
						If a person is interested in public law, and, in particular, policy, this is a great opportunity to get some valuable experience.
						Yes, absolutely. The people were great. The work was very interesting, and the level of responsibility was challenging.
						[Organization] was more than willing to accommodate me. I was immediately treated as an equal, and was given interesting work. The lawyers were always willing and available to give their guidance and support.
						The people were very enthusiastic; they gave me very interesting tasks with a large degree of responsibility.
