Sylvain Beaumont, a partner in the firm's Paris office, joined the firm in September 2010 after spending thirteen years in the european and economic law department of the prominent Paris-based law firm, Gide Loyrette Nouel.
Sylvain's practice focuses primarily on consumer, commercial, distribution and advertising law. He has worked with a wide variety of French, U.S. and international clients from diverse economic sectors, including ready-made and luxury goods, mass distribution, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, alcoholic beverages, and dairy products. Sylvain acts both as a negotiator in the drafting of commercial agreements and as an experienced litigator in complex disputes before French courts and arbitration tribunals.
Sylvain has a strong practice in insolvency and restructuring law. He has assisted foreign investors in the repurchasing of assets of bankrupt French companies, both for filing bids before French courts for such assets and for implementing such bids with the drafting of required contractual and corporate documentation.
Having acted as an expert witness before U.S. courts, a significant part of Sylvain's practice is devoted to providing assistance in the implementation of U.S. discovery proceedings in France.
