The generation of waste and its management, storage, treatment and disposal is an important aspect of sound environmental management. Fasken Martineau's environmental group frequently advises clients as to compliance and the potential liabilities that can arise in relation to these activities, and in relation to legal aspects of waste recovery and with respect to recycling programs. Since accident prevention is a key element for environmental management, we assist organizations to develop successful strategies for accident prevention through the identification of environmental risk and through the establishment of effective environmental management systems. We have also assisted clients in obtaining, implementing and maintaining applicable standards such as ISO 14001 certification.

Advising proponent of electronic products stewardship program including with respect to development and implementation of stewardship plan, corporate organization, risk assessment and mitigation and collection, transportation and recycling services.
Counsel to a variety of industrial and natural resource operations, including a B.C. dairy facility, several mining companies and chemical company in relation to effluent quality management requirements and operations.
Counsel to industrial facilities in relation to storage, treatment and recycling of waste.
