Excerpt
...Mr. Palmer has high hopes for his office in Canada's capital. He thinks the newly acquired business lawyers will fit in well with the telecom practice and there will be cross-selling opportunities.
"Different firms have different strategies and different ways they want to grow their firms. There is still a tremendous advantage to having people on the ground."
He, too, cites trade law, copyright expertise and litigation as areas the firm would like to expand in Ottawa.
He added that "having the lawyers join us is confirmation that through this [recessionary] time we haven't been sitting back hunkering down doing nothing. We have been aggressively looking for opportunities right across the firm."
