- CHUM Limited: advised on the $1.7 billion acquisition by Bell Globemedia.
- Addax Petroleum Corporation: advised on the $1.605 billion acquisition of subsidiaries of Pan-Ocean Energy.
- Air Canada: advised on groundbreaking outsourcing agreement with ITA Software for new reservation management system.
- Travelzest plc: acted for this British online travel group in its multi-million dollar acquisition of itravel2000.com by way of an exchangeable share transaction.
- International consortium including Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec: advised on hostile $24.7 billion take-over of BAA plc. Caisse de dépôt's equity participation was $2.54 billion.
- Gammon Lake Resources Inc.: acted in its $1.6 billion business combination with Mexgold Resources Inc.
- Special committee of the board of directors of Fairmont Hotels: advised the special committee in the $4.5 billion acquisition of Fairmont Hotels by Kingdom Hotels and Colony Capital.
- Northern Financial Corporation: assisted in a successful proxy battle to replace the board of directors and obtained a cease trading order in connection with the shareholders' rights plan adopted by Jaguar Nickel.
- Republic Services Inc.: successfully resisted an application by the City of Toronto for an order compelling Republic to accept non-solid waste at its Michigan landfill site.
- Sifto Canada Corp.: obtained an award of $1 million plus legal costs in respect of a rehearing of a rate application before the Ontario Energy Board.
- Ontario Realty Corporation: successfully resisted a certification motion for a class action involving allegations of toxic mould in respect of the Newmarket Courthouse.
- Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company: successfully resisted a certification motion for a product liability class action.
- Commercial Alcohols Inc.: successfully defended a proceeding brought by the Canadian Corn Producers before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal.
