Hello from Holland!

by Will Shaw, 2010/2011 Articling Student
It has been a great semester in Europe.  I've visited some amazing cities including Budapest, Berlin, Paris, London, Edinburgh, and Copenhagen.  Highlights include a tier II German hockey game in Munich, climbing Arthur's seat in Edinburgh, and a visit to Fasken's London office guided by Steven Gordon.  I'm looking forward to returning to Canada.  I will see everyone soon!

Hello from Amsterdam

by Anna Dayan, 2008/2009 Articling Student

Hello from Amsterdam! I hope that this postcard finds you well and that you have had a nice couple of months since I last saw you in August. I have been in Amsterdam now for a little over two months and I cant believe how quickly the time has flown by! Thanks to budget airlines and a great railway system, I have had the opportunity to travel to some great places, including Brussels, Paris, the south of France, Switzerland, Berlin and Italy. I am having a great time and looking forward to sharing my experiences with you when I return in the new year!

Greetings from Paris!

by Caolan Moore, 2008/2009 Articling Student

Greetings from Paris! This is a truly magical city; I've been trying to soak in its culture and history as best I can. There are good things to eat at every corner and studying is much more pleasant in cafés sipping on coffee - or wine. I've also been privy to a complete French experience: I'm living through my second transit strike of the semester. I've also been able to travel a little between classes and have made a few stops around Europe - including a guided tour of our great new London office by our own David Mueller!

I look forward to seeing you all soon! Bisoux!

Hello Faskens From India

by Jesse Langdon, 2007/2008 Articling Student

My experiences in India have been as diverse as the country itself. One day I am petting elephants and swimming under waterfalls and the next day I am waiting for hours to mail a letter or suffocating in 40 degree heat during one of the daily power failures. The highlight of India has been the people I've met. Speaking to colleagues about everything from career aspirations to arranged marriage, the bulk of my learning has been through these conversations. The experience has been fantastic. Now I am just crossing my fingers the snow is gone by the time I get home!

Postcard from London

by Dan Fuke, 2006 Summer Student

I just wanted to write and tell you about our great time in London and Italy. The London office was a great place to work. Everyone was so nice to work with, and I got to work closely with Mark on several projects. Leigh spent her time at many museums and galleries, and really enjoyed it. Italy was fantastic, it was wonderful to have has the chance to travel while we were here. I hope the rest of the summer was good for you, and I hope to see you in Halifax this fall.

Greetings from Hong Kong!

by Marc Lefler, 2006-2007 Articling Student

Things in Hong Kong are wonderful. We have been here over three months and have had the opportunity to explore all that Hong Kong as to offer. This is an incredible city full of energy, excitement and endless possibilities. My time at City University has been rewarding, the exposure to international studies has been unique. We have had the opportunity to travel throughout Southeast Asia and surrounding Hong Kong areas. I look forward to returning home and hope all is well in Toronto

Postcard from Amsterdam

by Michael Gleeson, 2005-2006 Articling Student

It's my last week in Amsterdam so I figured that it was about time that I got around to writing all of the postcards that are long overdue. I've really been fortunate in that I've had the opportunity to visit some great cities (Berlin, Rome, Florence, Paris and Dublin to name a few), see some wonderful sites and meeting some tremendous people (many of whom are now good friends). This exchange was exactly what I needed in order to make third year tolerable. Having said that, I am looking forward to getting back home to family and friends. I am also looking forward to watching North American sports again - there is no NHL coverage over here - you'd think the season wasn't even going on!

Greetings from Melbourne!

by Catherine Wiley on exchange at the University of Melbourne

Hello! I can't believe how quickly time has passed! I've finished school now and am getting ready to do some real exploring. I've already been to Western Australia - absolutely spectacular. The country surrounding Melbourne is pretty impressive, too. I have a growing list of the uniquely Australian animals I've spotted - kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, emus - they're like squirrels and racoons are to us. Melbourne is a great city to live in, but I'm looking forward to seeing Sydney, Cairns and New Zealand. Then, back to Canada where I'll no longer be a "sheila" but just plain old Canadian Catherine. Hope all is well with you!
