Ida Martin

Articling Student

Ida graduated from the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Law. Prior to attending law school, Ida graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Environmental Science from UBC. During her undergraduate studies, she was a recipient of the National Science and Engineering Research Grant and participated in a student exchange to the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. During first year law, Ida worked as a Clinician with the Law Student Legal Advice Program. An avid adventurer, Ida has cycled across Canada in support of climate change, studied and traveled through China and India, cycled solo through New Zealand and worked on an ice-breaking ship in the Arctic. During the summers of 2003-2005, Ida assumed various roles with Camp Green Cove in North Carolina, USA as Head of Mountaineering, Nature Programs and designated Trip leader for hiking trips. From 2004-2005, Ida was a Research Assistant and Lab Technician with the Institute of Ocean Science in Victoria. From 1997-present, Ida has worked part-time for Unicell Truck Body Company in Toronto assisting with environmental impact research for a million dollar grant proposal for electric trucks.  Ida is a member of the UBC Choir and also enjoys snowshoeing, hiking, canoeing, yoga, running and volleyball.

Ida summered with the firm in 2007 and was seconded to the Vancouver Office.
