Independent Power Producers
The landscape of the power generation market has changed significantly in the last decade. There are now greater opportunities than ever before for independent power producers with technologies like solar, wind, small hydro, co-generation and biomass to produce and sell power. Fasken Martineau's energy group has a particular focus on these independent power producers (IPPs) and has significant experience acting for project developers, lenders, utilities, marketers, consumers and other IPP market participants.
We regularly assists IPPs on all aspects of project development such as project bidding, environmental assessment and permitting, aboriginal issues, local government issues, financing and joint venture arrangements, preferential tax structures, procurement and construction, green attributes and emission trading, regulatory approvals, interconnection and commissioning, power purchase agreements, energy exports and energy markets. Whatever the size, whatever the complexities, whatever the location, with our broad industry perspective, we can add value, source the right talent and provide the resources to get the job done expertly and on time.
