Karam Bayrakal

Karam Bayrakal practices commercial law with a focus on technology. He advises on the strategic and commercialization needs of technology clients, as well as those clients acquiring or disposing of technology. He provides practical and innovative legal guidance on all aspects of technology: acquisition, disposition, licensing, distribution, sales, development, and related privacy, trade secret and confidentiality matters. His clients range from large international organizations to emerging companies. His deal experience across the United States, Asia, South America and Europe brings relevant value to his clients.

Karam is particularly experienced in advising video game and interactive media clients with development and publishing deals, and related corporate, tax, and intellectual property issues specific to video games and interactive media. He has advised, drafted and negotiated various agreements for video game development with Blue Castle Games, Ironclad Games, Hellbent Games and Big Sandwich Games with international publishers for Xbox, PS3, Nintendo and PC platforms and titles, and provided advice and assistance with intellectual property, employment, corporate structure and tax matters.
