Anna was a summer student with us in 2007. In her first year at law school, Anna worked part-time with the Asia-Pacific Dispute Resolution Program producing a paper in the area of international trade law, which she presented at the Pan-Pacific Business Law Conference and has since published. Anna recently published two additional papers in the areas of international commercial arbitration and insolvency, the latter presented at the 6th Annual Review of Insolvency Law Conference. Anna received a number of awards and scholarships, and was a member of the Laskin Moot team in 2007. Prior to law school, Anna was a policy analyst with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in Ottawa and in Tokyo, Japan, and with the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, an independent think-tank, in Vancouver.
Anna speaks fluent French, Russian and Japanese, and has traveled extensively in Asia, Australia, Latin America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. She will have completed a clerkship with the Federal Court of Appeal in Ottawa before she begins her articles with us in September 2009. Following her articles with us, Anna will spend a year as a clerk to the Honourable Mr. Justice Louis LeBel at the Supreme Court of Canada.
