Geoff Clarke joined the Toronto office's Business Law Section in 2002 and has a broad corporate/commercial practice with an emphasis on securities transactions (both securities offerings and M&A) and securities regulatory compliance. Geoff became a partner in 2009. Geoff has a considerable depth of experience in the financial community. After receiving his B. Comm. and MBA degrees, he spent several years in the corporate finance and advisory divisions of various investment dealers. He assisted clients in structuring, negotiating and completing various public and private equity financings as well as various acquisition and divestiture transactions involving public and private companies. Geoff also gained experience providing opinions regarding the valuation of securities and other assets. During his time at Fasken Martineau, Geoff has participated in secondments to: (i) the Legal and Compliance Department of HSBC Securities (Canada) Inc.; and (ii) the Corporate Finance Department of GMP Securities Ltd. Geoff also taught Business Law at York University in Toronto during the 2006/07 school year and has co-taught Corporate Finance at the University of Windsor law school every year since 2007.
