Michael Parrish is a partner in the Insurance and Product Liability Practice Group. Recently named a Benchmark Canada, Litigation Future Star, Lexpert Rising Stars Leading Lawyers Under 40, and Business in Vancouver, Top 40 Professionals Under 40, his practice focuses on insurance and product liability matters with an emphasis on transportation, fire loss and complex tort claims.
Michael has represented vehicle manufacturers, industrial, recreational, consumer and food product manufacturers, software and hardware manufacturers, medical device and instrument manufacturers, ship owners and operators, railroads, trucking companies, ports and docks, airports, air carriers, aircraft owners and operators, repair facilities, aircraft and aircraft engine and parts manufacturers and their insurers in a wide variety of tort and product liability claims. He has substantial expertise in commercial aspects of insurance, product liability and tort litigation including contract, lease, warranty, indemnity and complex damages claims.
Michael also has extensive expertise with cross-border litigation issues including multi-jurisdictional litigation, jurisdictional disputes (including forum non conveniens and antisuit injunction applications), inter-jurisdictional evidentiary matters (including obtaining and enforcing letters rogatory) and enforcing and opposing the enforcement of foreign judgments. Additionally, Michael has significant experience in acting for financial institutions in tort, contract, fraud and bills of exchange matters.
