Mark Magro is an associate in the firm's Antitrust/Competition & Marketing Group.
He obtained both his LL.B. and LL.M. at the University of Ottawa. Concurrent with his undergraduate studies in law, Mark acted as a senior editor for the Ottawa Law Review, interned with the House of Commons Office of the Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel, and was employed as a law student at the Office of the Judge Advocate General.
Mark articled with the Ottawa office of another national law firm. Thereafter, he pursued graduate studies in law in the areas of international business and competition. Contemporaneous with his studies, Mark was a research assistant for two law professors and held a position with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.
Mark engages in a broad competition practice that entails advising Canadian and international clients on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters. Within this broad practice, Mark focuses on competition and foreign investment issues related to mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, particularly with respect to regulatory approvals for such transactions under the Competition Act and Investment Canada Act.
