Mariel Monk

Mariel Monk is a partner in Fasken Martineau LLP (London) and is the head of London's Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group.

Mariel has spent most of her career in the City of London as a partner in UK national and international general commercial, shipping and insurance practices. She has extensive experience of representing corporate clients in corporate, commercial, financial, information technology, multi jurisdictional and cross border disputes.

Mariel is a specialist in insurance and international trade including commodities; marine and logistics work including oil and gas.

Selected Experience

• Acting for an Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) in connection with a dispute concerning the interpretation of management buy out documentation and dealing with Pension Review Claimants and the Financial Services Authority
• Recovery from accountants on behalf of a client whose businesses were put into serious financial difficulties as a consequence of short comings in due diligence carried out on an acquisition
