DuPont Primary Law Firm and Supplier Network (DuPont PLFS)
Since 1998, Fasken Martineau has been the primary law firm in Canada for E.I. DuPont de Nemours and DuPont Canada. In 2003, we received a special award from DuPont in recognition of our leadership role in promoting the goal of partnering.

The DuPont PLFS Network began in the landmark partnering initiative, the DuPont Legal Model, developed in 1992 with its outside law firms in order to reduce (from 300) the number of law firms DuPont used. The goal was to improve the delivery and cost-efficiency of legal services to DuPont and its family of companies.

The International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR Institute)
In 2004, Fasken Martineau earned a voice in the CPR Institute through representation on its Executive Advisory Committee. The Committee is comprised of AmLaw Top 100 law firms and general counsel at leading US corporations. It works with the Institute's Board and its international alliance of members from 500 global corporations, leading law firms and academics to promote alternative dispute resolution (ADR) internationally.

The CPR Institute was established in 1979 as the Centre for Public Resources and it has earned international recognition as an authority on new and innovative uses for ADR in public disputes. The organization's mandate is to both promote excellence in public and private dispute resolution, and to conduct research, develop new uses of ADR and educate law departments, firms and others as to the uses of ADR.

Law Department Purchasing Consortium (LDPC)
Given its experience with and belief in the partnering concept for law firm clients, Fasken Martineau joined the Law Department Consortium (LDPC) in 2005 as the inaugural Canadian law firm member.

The LDPC was created as a resource for counsel. Its purpose is to gather together participating "buyers" who are introduced to experienced, partnering-savvy "sellers" who are committed to helping law departments operate more efficiently and trim legal costs without compromising the "seller's" profits. Participation by either is not a guarantee of or commitment to retention. The parties follow the usual processes for that.
