 Nicolas Leblanc is the co-chair of the Firm’s Montreal Real Estate Group. He is also an active member of the Firm’s Infrastructure Group.

He acts principally for private and public institutional investors, financial institutions and a wide range of stakeholders in the real estate, transportation and infrastructure markets. Mr. Leblanc advises his clients in the context of diverse transactional files as well as in the development of strategic projects that require a variety of interactions with administrative, government, and community stakeholders.

Mr. Leblanc represents owners, managers, developers, lenders and builders in the negotiation of various real estate transactions, including sale and acquisition contracts, development agreements, commercial leases and real estate financings relating to a broad range of commercial and industrial properties. He also represents investors and institutional clients who are establishing and acquiring equity in real estate investment funds.

As part of his Infrastructure practice, Mr. Leblanc is also a member of the team of external legal counsels that advises Infrastructure Québec on the completion of the new Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal and the McGill University Health Centre.

In the transportation and energy sectors, he represents railway companies and rail operators relating to construction and operation of railway infrastructure as well as various stakeholders in the design, build, procurement and commissioning of transportation and energy infrastructure projects.

An active member of the Government Relations and Ethics practice group, Mr. Leblanc also advises Fasken Martineau's clients on their obligations under the legislative frameworks surrounding lobbying and relations with government authorities, both at the federal and provincial levels.

  • Pro bono representation of Fondation Lessard regarding the acquisition of land in Haiti and the construction of a new orphanage after the existing facilities were destroyed during the January 2010 earthquake
