Pierre B. Meunier

Pierre B. Meunier is the Quebec Regional Chair of the Government Relations and Ethics Practice Group.

Pierre has helped clients manage crises related to environmental or public health issues, obtain environmental approvals, redevelop contaminated land (either through risk analysis or rehabilitation to criteria), and with respect to climate change issues and transactions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  He was a member of the external think tank on the Environment Quality Act for the Quebec Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks (2005-2006).

Pierre assists clients with complying with laws and regulations relating to transparency and ethics in lobbying activities.  Pierre has negotiated agreements on behalf of his clients with aboriginal Canadians.

Pierre joined Fasken Martineau in 1989 aftern holding a number of positions of responsibility with the Government of Québec.  He was the founding Vice-President of the Legal Aid Services Commission, Director of the Montréal Community Centre for Legal Aid, President of the Consumer Protection Office, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Housing and Consumer Protection and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of the Environment.
