The members of the Privacy and Information Protection group, in collaboration with the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA) invited corporate lawyers as well as the legal officers of public organizations to participate in three conferences concerning the respect of privacy rights held in Vancouver, Montréal and Toronto.

The event speakers explored the following topics:

• Reconciling the Various Privacy Statutes in Canada Act
• Mastering Privacy Issues in Litigation and e-Discovery
• The True Issues Related to Unauthorized Access to Personal Information
• Monitoring and Surveillance of an Organization's Employees
• Outsourcing Personal Information in and from Canada

In addition to our event speakers' expertise, those who attended this event benefited from the experience of Mr. David Loukidelis, British Columbia's Information and Privacy Commissioner, Mr. Dale Philip, Assistant Vice-president & Senior Counsel at Sun Life Financial, Mr. Robert Lebeau, Vice-president and Associate General Counsel at Sun Life Financial, as well as Mr. Jacques Saint-Laurent, President of the Commission d'accès à l'information of Québec, who all enriched the question period with their comments and their warmly received recommendations.
