Roxanne E. McCormick

Roxanne McCormick is the immediate past Chair of the Ontario Business Law Section. Roxanne has a varied practice and is the leader of several teams of lawyers who regularly act for a number of large and long-standing clients of the Firm. Her principal practice areas are mergers and acquisitions, at both the domestic and international levels, corporate governance and securities. Roxanne has acted for over 20 years for one of Canada's leading broadcasting and communications companies. She is also the key contact partner for a major international chemical and sciences company, managing a large team of the firm's lawyers who provide advice in numerous areas on a daily basis to this client, and is the principal legal advisor in the securities and corporate governance areas to a leading equipment supply corporation. Roxanne is also the principal contact for the firm's relationship with a major Canadian chartered bank. Known for her efficiency and ability to get things done in a timely fashion, Roxanne is regularly consulted by those clients who need focused, timely advice, delivered in an efficient and practical manner on major issues affecting their businesses, often within a tight timeframe. In addition to her role as Chair of the Business Law Section, Roxanne’s management responsibilities have included many years on the Ontario Region’s Compensation Committee, Professional Development Committee and Student Committee. Roxanne is currently co-chair of the Ontario Region Professional Issues Committee.
