Roger Loosley is a partner in Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP and Fasken Martineau LLP (London) and a member of the Technology and Intellectual Property practice group.

After qualifying as a solicitor in 1971, Roger specialised in all forms of litigation before taking up general commercial work. He refined this to provide legal services for the suppliers and consumers of Information Technology, with an emphasis on intellectual property issues, and now has over 30 years experience in this field. Roger's current areas of work include the following: 

• Information Technology: e-commerce; data protection; software development and licensing; terms for the supply of telecoms services; consultancy agreements and turnkey agreements.
• Joint Ventures: Limited liability companies; partnerships; Limited Liability Partnerships and Limited Partnerships: formation and controlling agreements.
• Intellectual Property: international branding strategies including domain names, trade marks and passing off; copyright; registered designs; confidentiality; know-how.
• Data Protection: data audits; notification; privacy policies; consents to processing and export of personal data.
• Commercial Agreements: business sales and purchases; manufacturing; distribution; agency; joint venture; VAR and OEM agreements; terms of sale and purchase of goods.
• Notarial Services: authentication and verification of documents and persons; legalisation of documents; legal opinions as to the power; authority and status of persons and as to English law.

Roger has been involved in many presentations and publications throughout his career and has led numerous training workshops on topics such as licensing, data protection, privacy, drafting contracts, exclusion and limitation of liability, contracts for sale of goods, and pitfalls of ancillary documents.
