Ron Ezekiel is a partner with the Global Energy Group. His practice focuses on regulatory compliance issues and business transactions for energy, mining and resource companies, independent power producers, and utilities. Ron's mix of business law experience and industry knowledge, together with an ability to provide timely and practical advice, make him an ideal selection for counsel on project development work.
Ron has extensive expertise with permitting issues, including environmental assessments, fisheries authorizations, crown tenures, water licenses and impact benefit agreements with First Nations. He regularly acts for clients on projects, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and project finance work. Ron has comprehensive knowledge of the electrical industry, including matters relating to independent power producers, transmission tariffs, interconnections, and Canadian energy markets. A regular part of Ron's practice involves climate change related issues, including public policy analysis, emissions trading work, and buffer pools related to carbon sequestration projects. His practice also covers other environmental issues, including transportation of dangerous goods, contaminated sites, product stewardship and mine reclamation.
