Scott Conover practises general corporate/commercial law, with a particular emphasis on private mergers and acquisitions. He has extensive experience in the acquisition and divestiture of private companies, strategic alliances, amalgamations, corporate reorganizations, venture capital investments, secured lending and the establishment and operation of partnerships. His practice experience also includes the licensing and protection of intellectual property and sale and distribution of a variety of products and services.
Scott advises, on a day-to-day basis, both Canadian and foreign entrepreneurs and public and private companies. He is regularly involved in cross-border transactions in a variety of sectors including industrial, health care and technology.
Scott has experience in advising directors and independent committees as to their duties and potential liabilities and has advised numerous closely-held and family owned companies on governance, succession planning and shareholder dispute resolution. He has acted both for creditors and debtors in several complex, multi-class debt restructurings and plans of arrangement.
