2011/2012 Articling Students Yearbook

FMD's Need for Speed
by Marc Rodrigue, 2011-2012 Articling Student

On the most blustering day of November to date, the Fasken Martineau articling students, made their way up to 401 Mini Indy Go-Karts to test themselves on the track. Joining in on the ride were speedsters Sally Woods, Mae Chong, Kyla Stilwell, Ashleigh Rogers, and Megan Kunder of Fasken's Professional Development Team, the roadrunner of associates, Chris Rae, and partner Jon "Days of Thunder" Lancaster.

Pooled into two teams, the crew first did time trials to qualify for final races. Once the times were set, they lined up for a 20-lap showdown. There were some impressive drifts, speedy passes, and a health dose of well-intentioned crashes (and a few resulting bruises) during the night. After a great BBQ dinner, the top prizes were awarded to the best drivers: fastest overall were Chris Rae and articling student Margaret MacInnis, while the best single laps went to Jon Lancaster and Ashleigh Rogers.

A great night was had by all and the articling students appreciated the Professional Development team getting us all in the fast lane!
