Tai Nahm is a partner in the Technology and Intellectual Property Law Group at Fasken Martineau. His practice focuses on acquisition, exploitation and management of intellectual property (IP) rights, including patent drafting and prosecution, patent opinions, procurement of industrial design (design patent) registrations, licensing, due diligence, patent portfolio management, and related matters.
He has worked with corporate clients in diverse fields (including information technology, telecommunications, Internet, banking, scientific instruments, and general manufacturing) seeking patent protection for technologies relating to physical and logical systems, software, business methods, mechanical and electro-mechanical devices, and manufacturing methods and processes. He has also worked with individual inventors and small-to-medium enterprises to help them identify and protect their IP rights and establish a competitive IP strategy.
Prior to entering law school, he worked for a major multinational computer company providing systems engineering support. In the course of obtaining his degree in Systems Design Engineering, he interned at another major multinational computer company where he gained valuable experience in computer operations and manufacturing.
He is a Registered Patent Agent in Canada, and is also qualified to represent Canadian patent applicants before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the international Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Office.
