Top 3 Ranking: Thomson Reuters and Bloomberg rank Fasken Martineau among top three Canadian M&A leaders

Toronto (Canada) - Fasken Martineau, a leading international business law and litigation firm, announced today that it ranked third among law firms globally in the number of Canadian M&A transactions announced in 2009 on which it advised, as reported by both Thomson Reuters and Bloomberg.
"These rankings confirm the market's view of our expertise in M&A advisory work, and reflect our clients' confidence in our ability to provide the sophisticated advice necessary to navigate through these complex transactions," said Richard Steinberg, leader of Fasken Martineau's Securities and M&A practice group.
Thomson Reuters credited Fasken Martineau with having advised on 79 transactions announced during 2009 with a cumulative value of approximately $15.8 billion. This is the fourth year in a row that Thomson Reuters has ranked Fasken Martineau among the top four law firms for Canadian M&A.
