Violence and Criminal Negligence in the Workplace

Event Speakers

The impact, prevention and appropriate responses to violence in the workplace, as well as legislative requirements relating to employee safety, will be addressed. Topics include responsibilities of employers respecting workplace violence prevention, management and response; amendments to the Criminal Code (Bill C-45) creating new occupational health and safety duties; procedures, prosecutions and penalties under occupational health and safety legislation; and "due diligence" as an effective defence to protect employers and managers.
