Overview

Albert J. (Bertie) McClean, KC, is an experienced trusts, estates and pensions lawyer and Associate Counsel in Fasken’s Vancouver office. His expertise attracts both private and government clients.

Bertie was a member of the Faculty at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law (now known as the Peter A. Allard School of Law) for five decades. He was Dean of the Faculty from 1971 to 1976, and later was University Associate Vice-President Academic. In that capacity he acted as general legal counsel to the University and provided advice on a wide range of legal matters.

He has also written and lectured extensively on trusts and estates, property law and pensions, and has provided opinions in these fields to private clients and government.
