Andrew Gunpat graduated from the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law. Prior to law school, he obtained an Honours Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Public Management at the University of Guelph where he graduated with distinction. He also holds a Certificate in Leadership from the University of Guelph. Andrew’s previous work experience includes working as a Research Assistant at Windsor Law focusing on potential misrepresentation and deception by internet and e-commerce organizations. He was also a Business Analyst for Scotiabank where he drafted comprehensive governance and strategy documents to address the bank’s regulatory implications of acquiring cross-border companies. Furthermore, Andrew spent time in the public sector both as an Excise Tax Auditor for the Canada Revenue Agency where he conducted full audits on businesses for compliance with their corporate tax returns; and as a Research Associate for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs where he supported the Business Development branch with attracting and retaining international investment into Ontario. At law school, Andrew volunteered as a Student Advisor to help students with strategy, preparation, and coaching regarding their applications to the Toronto OCI Recruitment process. He also volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada by assisting a non-profit credit counselling organization with legal research relating to financial disclosures and regulatory compliance. During his undergrad, Andrew served as the President and Co-Founder of the Public Management Student Association, Vice-President of the Pre-Law Society, and a member of the West Indian Student Association. Andrew plays drums and piano and enjoys martial arts, tennis, golf, and travelling.
