Briana Maguire graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and English Language and Literature. After completing law school at Queen Mary University of London she obtained the NCA Certificate of Qualification from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. Prior to joining the Fasken team, Briana gained valuable work experience as a Policy Advisor to the Ontario Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, Christine Elliott. She has also worked as a Summer Intern at Gardiner Roberts LLP, a Compliance Consultant at Nurse Next Door Home Care Services, and as an Intern at Legal Cheek (a British legal news website). During her studies, Briana actively participated in student government, in various elected senior roles with the Arts and Humanities Students’ Council at the University of Western Ontario and as a member of the Social Affairs Executive for the Queen Mary Law Society. As a compliment to her involvement in student government, Briana also worked as a Research Assistant for the Leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party while in opposition, and was a member of the Communications Team during Caroline Mulroney’s PC leadership race. Additionally, she served as the Chief Financial Officer for a local candidate running for provincial parliament. Briana’s community involvement includes working as a classroom volunteer for children with complex developmental challenges at Centennial Infant and Child Care Centre and as a Physical Education Teaching Assistant for Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. Briana is a member of the Ontario Bar Association Health Law Section and the Medico-legal Society of Toronto. She enjoys snowboarding, listening to True Crime podcasts, and reading memoirs.
