With an emphasis on domestic and cross border private equity, merchant banking, reorganization and liquidity event, Byron also advises clients on strategic and succession planning transactions, and complex ownership arrangements, including joint-ventures. Byron also regularly assists with shareholder rights and remedies. senior executive and employee incentive/compensation arrangements and domestic and international investment fund work.
Acting for buyers, sellers, owners and other investors ranging , Byron has led the completion of private company transactions valued in excess of $2.0 billion across a range of industries including life sciences, technology enterprises, financial services, wealth management, energy, manufacturing, construction services and rentals, transportation, gaming and entertainment.
Byron is also Regional Leader of the firm’s Private Client Services practice group, helping clients address significant personal and business objectives.
Byron was previously seconded to the Ministry of Finance as a policy advisor to the Ontario Minister of Finance on financial services matters including the legislation that gave the OSC its rule making authority.
