Byron Loeppky is a Senior Partner in Fasken's Private Client Services Practice and the Regional Leader of the PCS practice in Ontario.
With an emphasis on domestic and cross border private equity, merchant banking and liquidity event transactions (both private and public), Byron advises clients on strategic and succession planning transactions, complex ownership arrangements, corporate finance matters, shareholder rights and remedies, stakeholder disputes, senior executive and employee incentive/compensation arrangements and corporate governance matters. Acting for buyers, sellers, owners and other investors, Byron has led the successful completion of mid-market private company transactions valued in excess of $3 billion across a range of industries including life sciences, food services, technology enterprises, financial services, wealth management, insurance, energy, manufacturing, construction services and rentals, transportation, gaming and entertainment.
Earlier in his career, Byron was seconded to the Ministry of Finance as a policy advisor to the Ontario Minister of Finance on financial services matters including the legislation that gave the Ontario Securities Commission its rule making authority.
