Christian Jacques co-chairs the Montreal Startup/Emerging Tech practice group since 2012. He specializes in angel/venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, for high-growth emerging companies.
Christian’s clients range from start-up companies in the earliest stages to well-established public companies, as well as angels, private equity and venture capital funds.
He also provides strategic counseling in a broad range of industries, including software as a service, big data, virtual reality, augmented reality, internet of things, 3D printing, medtech, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, neurotechnology, blockchain and cryptocurrency.
Christian’s range of legal and business counsel spans the lifecycle of companies, from inception to liquidity event, and includes strategic planning as well as advice on mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, financing rounds, initial public offerings and exits.
Prior to joining Fasken in 2008, Christian was a corporate financing analyst for the Capital Market Division of the Autorité des marchés financiers (the Québec Securities Commission), where he developed a unique comprehension of the securities laws framework.
