This seminar will present an overview of the importance of ethical considerations - specifically, Social and Environmental Responsibility - for outsourcing practitioners. It will review the ethical standards that are applicable to outsourcing such as the UN Global Compact, the Global Reporting Initiative, ISO 26000 and other relevant CSR standards, as well the concept of socially responsible outsourcing (SRO), or Impact Sourcing. Case studies from various outsourcing arrangements will be used to illustrate the CSR concepts and to encourage thoughtful participation from chapter attendees. From this meeting, attendees will understand and be able to address the concepts of social and environmental issues in establishing and managing outsourcing contracts.
