Fasken Martineau’s Aboriginal Law group invites you to a complimentary breakfast seminar on Friday, September 28, 2012 for a presentation on new cases and developments in the law regarding consultation with First Nations. Chuck Willms and Bridget Gilbride will provide an update on the recent cases, including practical guidance to approaching Aboriginal consultation in the context of project development and operational considerations in the resource industry.
Seminar topics will include:
- The recent decision in Roger William from the B.C. Court of Appeal on aboriginal title and rights and how that may impact project development and the resource industry.
- An update on recent decisions from the Canadian courts on the Haida duty of consultation and their impact on the procedural consultation obligations of private parties.
