Facing a crisis: How your company can avoid, manage and succeed in litigation

Fasken Martineau's Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group offers you a not-to-be-missed series of training, upgrading and networking sessions. This seminar is the first of a 3-part series to be offered by the group.

Class actions against financial institutions are all the rage. Is there reason to believe that the Court of Appeal's recent decision in Marcotte and Adams will have a significant impact on class actions against financial institutions and banks in particular? If so, how?

Over the course of this training seminar, we will provide an overview of class actions directed against financial institutions in the last ten years. We will then consider the lessons learned from the Marcotte and Adams rulings. Finally, we will discuss future perspectives in this sector, especially relating to the securities industry.

We look forward to providing you with other training seminars over the course of the fall on recent developments in product distribution and product liability as well as on litigation in the construction sector. Stay tuned!
