Unions’ expectations and employers’ operational needs are always changing. The pace of change has never been faster. But are collective agreements keeping up? This seminar will focus on current hot topics in collective bargaining, both in the public and private sector. You will be able to learn about what unions are demanding and what kinds of collective agreement improvements other employers are seeking. Additionally, you will hear about what is being achieved in other collective bargaining negotiations. The Program will be very inter-active, so that participants can learn from one another as well as from the presenters. Topics will include:

TYPICAL UNION DEMANDS

  • Part-time/casual work force restrictions
  • Modified Work Program clauses
  • Employment Security & Re-deployment
  • Harassment clauses
  • Health & Safety clauses

SOME POSSIBLE EMPLOYER IMPROVMENTS

  • Expedited Arbitration clauses
  • Attendance Management Program recognition
