Overview

The Trudeau election promise of “legalizing marijuana” is underway, with legislation promised for this Spring. This seminar will assist HR and Risk managers understand and manage the many workplace legal risks associated with marijuana and other substances, legal and otherwise. We will cover the current state of the law; what exactly is “medical marijuana”; the challenges of implementing a drug and alcohol program in both a union and non-union environment; human rights considerations; and when drug and alcohol testing is legal in Canada.
