The Federal government’s announced intention to legalize adult access to cannabis by July 2018 will open up a new frontier for businesses in Canada. A key factor to success in this evolving industry will be to ensure an understanding of the legal requirements underlying the current medical cannabis regime and the newly proposed Cannabis Act and how the two regimes will work in tandem.
