On behalf of Fasken, the Fasken Pride Network invites you to join us on Thursday, June 6th for our annual pride month event. This year’s event will feature a screening of The Freedom to Marry, an award winning feature documentary that reveals the American same sex marriage political and legal movement in the United States, culminating in the ground-breaking 2015 decision of the United States Supreme Court in favour of the freedom to marry nationwide.
We are pleased to be joined at the screening by Eddie Rosenstein, the director of the film, and Evan Wolfson, attorney and a gay rights activist who founded the Freedom to Marry, an organization that was instrumental in driving social change and challenging legal barriers to marriage before the United States Supreme Court. After the screening, we invite you to join us for an informative discussion with Eddie and Evan as we celebrate pride and our shared diversity. With the next U.S. presidential election just over a year away, The Freedom to Marryserves as a timely reminder of the progress of LGBTQ rights in the United States, and an opportunity to discuss the state of those rights in its current political climate.
Please share this invitation freely with your company’s diversity or LGBTQ* committee/employee resource group, and any colleagues who may be interested in attending, whether they identify as members of the LGBTQ* community, are LGBTQ* allies, or otherwise!
