François-Alexandre Marois joined Fasken as a student in May of 2019 following his second year of law school at Université Laval. As part of his studies, he will begin a two-term internship with a Québec Court of Appeal judge in the fall of 2019.
At the end of his undergraduate studies, François decided to focus his academic career on law, since, according to him, it is a dynamic, intellectually stimulating field which will use his analytical skills. He also had the opportunity to share his strong interest in the law while mentoring a group of high school students in a moot court competition.
In order to help others and improve access to justice, François is a volunteer with the Mobile Legal Clinic, a non-profit organization that helps people who are homeless or socially marginalized by offering them access to legal information and a support-referral service. In addition to being inspiring on a personal level, this activity has allowed him to strengthen his ability to formulate creative solutions – a quality which he believes is important in a lawyer.
A big sports fan, François is also interested in art, gastronomy and literature.
