Heather recently completed her second year at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia where she received the Harold F. and Anne Bedner Uphill Scholarship in Law, the Irving K. Barber BC Indigenous Student Award, and the J. E. Klink, Q.C., Indigenous Student Award. While at law school, Heather participated in the Kawaskimhon Moot. She has served on the Allard Law Student Society Equity and Diversity Committee, on the Allard Law Admissions Committee, and as Chair of the UBC Environmental Law Group. She is currently the president of the Indigenous Law Students’ Association.
Following her first year, Heather gained valuable experience summering with the in-house counsel of a federal Crown Corporation. Prior to attending law school, Heather worked for several years in the insurance industry. She also completed a summer program in Property Law at the University of Saskatchewan, where she finished at the top of her class.
Away from school and work, Heather enjoys attending weekly classes to further her Cree language abilities, and is also an avid skier. Heather joins us in June for summer articles.
