Howard Carr’s practice is focused on all major areas of estate planning. Assisting clients with tax-planned wills and trusts, estates and post-mortem estate planning, Howard also advises on estate freezing, cross-border and international will planning, marriage contracts and charities.
A significant part of his practice is dedicated to business succession planning, inclusive of family shareholder agreements and Howard has significant experience in both contentious and non-contentious family situations.
Acted as a facilitator in a number of family planning transactions, Howard has also advised clients extensively on estate litigation matters as well as on commercial trusts.
Frequently writing and speaking for the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Law Society of Upper Canada, and the Canadian Bar Association, Howard has also lectured on estate planning at the Bar Admission Course and taught at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law.
