John Webster

John Webster is currently attending the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta. Prior to law school, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from St. Francis Xavier University. After completing his undergraduate degree, John worked as an Executive Assistant to the Deputy Mayor of Toronto and was responsible for advising the Deputy Mayor on key city-wide and constituency issues. In this role, he worked with city staff, councillors, and the mayor’s office to guide major policy files through the legislative process. This past summer, John was an Intern at Navigator Ltd, a public relations and strategy firm, where he worked with teams of public affairs, government relations, and communications consultants to develop solutions for clients. At law school, John is a Special Assistant to the Dean and a member of the Strategic Planning Steering Committee. He is currently responsible for leading student consultation efforts as part of the development of a new strategic plan. He also sits on the 2018 Graduation Committee, and has previously served as a student representative on the Law Faculty Council. John enjoys going on canoe trips, following municipal politics, and cheering on the Leafs.

John will be participating in the Firm’s Secondment Program and will be seconded to the Hospital for Sick Children.
